Unlicensed cancer, diabetes medicine worth 6.6 crores seized in Kolkata
Dr. Sunil Sahu, a 30-year-old doctor, was shot and killed at his clinic in Rajendra Nagar, Indore, Madhya Pradesh, on the night of December 27. The incident occurred around 11:30 pm when three individuals entered the clinic, pretending to seek treatment for cold and cough. They paid a consultation fee of 450 rupees, received medication, and left the clinic. Shortly afterward, the same individuals returned, now wearing masks. One of them shot Dr. Sahu in the chest, causing his immediate death.
At the time of the attack, there was a power outage and heavy rainfall in the area, which prevented CCTV cameras from capturing the incident. According to police, the clinic compounder, Deepak Chouhan, was present during the attack and confirmed hearing the gunshot and seeing the suspects flee. Police have taken statements from Chouhan and other witnesses as part of their investigation.
The police investigation indicates that the murder was premeditated. Authorities believe that the suspects may have conducted a reconnaissance of the clinic for several hours before committing the crime. Police are focusing on potential personal or professional rivalries as possible motives for the murder. Dr. Sahu had relocated to Indore two years ago from Guna, where he had worked prior to setting up his practice in Rajendra Nagar.
Investigators are also examining Dr. Sahu’s phone records. Police confirmed that Dr. Sahu received a call earlier that evening from an unknown number. The caller mentioned having previously visited the clinic and being satisfied with the treatment. Upon further investigation, the phone number was traced to a laborer who claimed that unknown individuals had borrowed his phone to make the call.
Police have reviewed nearby surveillance footage and found that a car was parked near the clinic during the time of the attack. It is suspected that the suspects may have used the vehicle to escape. Several teams have been assigned to track the suspects, including units focused on forensic evidence, cyber analysis of phone records, and further investigation into the clinic’s surrounding areas. Authorities have also been working to verify any connections Dr. Sahu might have had with individuals in Guna or Mhow that could provide insight into potential motives for the murder.
